Good Faith Estimate Notice

Effective Date: July 1, 2026

Your right to receive a Good Faith Estimate

Under the No Surprises Act, individuals who are uninsured or who are not using insurance have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much their health care services are expected to cost.

This includes psychotherapy services.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

A Good Faith Estimate is an estimate of the expected charges for services that are reasonably expected for your care.

Because therapy needs, goals, and frequency can vary, a Good Faith Estimate is not a contract and does not require you to receive a specific number of sessions.

When you will receive a Good Faith Estimate

If you are uninsured or choosing not to use insurance, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate:

  • Before beginning services

  • When services are scheduled in advance

  • Upon request

You may request a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling services.

Current fee

The current standard fee for therapy is:

$220 per 45-minute session

If fees change, you will be informed in advance.

Estimated cost of therapy

The total cost of therapy depends on the number, length, and frequency of sessions.

For example:

  • Weekly therapy for 12 weeks at $220 per session: $2,640

  • Weekly therapy for 26 weeks at $220 per session: $5,720

  • Weekly therapy for 52 weeks at $220 per session: $11,440

These examples are estimates only. The actual number of sessions will depend on your needs, goals, availability, and clinical course of treatment.

If your bill is higher than your Good Faith Estimate

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you may have the right to dispute the bill through the federal patient-provider dispute resolution process.

You may contact the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for information about your rights under the No Surprises Act.
